Editing Services

Do you dream of publishing a book that will keep your readers up all night—bleary-eyed and desperate to make it to the end of the chapter before they fall asleep?

If so, I am your new best friend.

And as your new best friend, I promise to open your eyes to your storytelling strengths, amplify your voice, and smoke out each lingering grammar error—together, we will pull the magic in your story up to the surface and make your dream a reality.

Why I Started Ryan Edits LLC

I learned to read at five years old, and ever since, words and stories have been my entire world. Twenty-six years after crafting my first sentence, I published my first book, but by then I had already worked as an editor for years.

As a fellow author, I know the challenge of crafting a story that will keep your reader up past their bedtime. I know the toil that manuscript you’re holding in your hands represents. You’ve already put your blood, sweat, and tears into your writing—and I want nothing more than to come alongside you to help you pull the magic in your words to the surface,

to polish your story until it shines so that your book can go to print as the best version of itself—and start wreaking havoc on your readers’ bedtimes.

My Dream

YOUR DREAM is publishing a story that will keep your readers in its grip until the concept of bedtime loses all meaning.

MY DREAM is making your dream a reality.

And after eight years of my dream job—editing countless manuscripts for authors just like you—I only love it more.

What I Do

Authors come to me at different stages of their writing process.

Some struggle with sagging middles, others with a story that never slows down from its breakneck speed.

Some authors have stories that meander along at a pace that makes their readers snooze. Some suffer from too-low stakes or the snappy dialogue in their head falling flat on the page.

Working with me, you’ll always receive kind, professional, and helpful feedback about your story’s structure, pacing, characters, dialogue, flow, voice, and inconsistencies—all the little actors that will bring your story closer to the bane-of-bedtimes you dream of.

I will never take over your story, only come alongside you to search for the strong points and subtle weaknesses—and suggest improvements.

Your story is  here to make your dream come true.

You are the brilliant author of this story, and you’ll always know your book better than I will.

That said, every author whose story I’ve edited at the later stages have published their books, and I’m certain, ruined many a sensible bedtime schedule.

And you can, too!
