Meet The Author
Austin Ryan writes sweet and magical romance inspired by the folklore of her Norwegian upbringing.
She’s a freelance editor and proofreader by day and writes her own stories by night. She’s a firm believer in happily ever after, and that magic can be found in the dullest of places if you only look hard enough (or if you can’t find it after all, you can write it into a book).
Austin lives by the ocean in Connecticut, USA, where the bookshelves are many, the Christmas lights stay up all year long, and something or other is usually being painted (furniture), or baked (cakes), or written into a story (folklore, magic, and banter).
Her latest novel The Norwegian Christmas Marriage Plot: A Sweet Romantic Comedy (based on an earlier novella) was published on December 23rd, 2023.
She has also written:
2023: A Winter Proposal: A Fae Enemies to Lovers Romance set in magical Norway
2022: Heiress of the Magical Fairshaw Library: A Magical Historical Romance set in beautiful England (previously titled “The Fairshaw Library”)
2021: Pirate’s Treasure: A Women’s Fiction Time-travel Romance set in 1725 and 2019 coastal New England
2020: the soon-to-be-retired novella, The Christmas Marriage Plot

what i write
romance with sizzling chemistry, plenty of banter, lots of kissing, and a little bit of magic—and always a happily ever after.
why i write romance
romance is a genre where women get to be the main characters in their own stories, accomplish their goals, and find happily ever after, too. it's about time.
I also think romantic fiction that portrays emotionally healthy relationships and all forms of consent is so very important.
CONTENT
- all my books are considered closed door romances
